As if from a bygone age

A rally for people with steam driven vehicles.
The Strathmore Arms being a selected "stop off" point on their chosen journey.A route which included Middleton-in-Teesdale and then the jouney on the narrow 3 mile road to Holwick, afterwards, back along the same road. For motor vehicles there is no alternative route.
Being set to the South side of the River Tees where the road ends at The Strathmore Estates the absence of through traffic has resulted in the area being largely undisturbed by modern developments. The region is internationally recognised for its archaeological and botanical interest.
